Blade, le personnage principal, est mi-humain, mi vampire. Sa mère a été mordue alors qu'elle était enceinte de lui et tuée par l'infâme Deacon Frost. De ce fait, Blade nourrit une haine aigüe contre les vampires et décide donc de devenir un chasseur de vampires. Par son statut, Blade possède la force des vampires mais pas leurs faiblesses. En effet, il peut vivre et se déplacer librement le jour. Alors qu'il est en mission spéciale au Japon, Blade retrouve la trace de Deacon Frost. Il décide donc de la suivre et se retrouve confronté à une organisation secrète nommée "Existence" composée de vampires génétiquement modifiés par Frost.
